Ring in the New Year 2017 with a family-friendly celebration at the New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop in Panama City Beach on December 31, 2016. The festivities last throughout the day and into the evening in Pier Park, right across the street from the Calypso Resort. The main roads to Pier Park will be blocked to traffic and the streets will be busy with free live music, entertainment, shopping specials, and all around fun.

The festivities are family-focused with a special early New Year’s Eve countdown to 8:00pm for the little ones. At the end of the countdown, at 8 o’clock, over 10,000 inflated beach balls will drop from the nets stretched across the sky for the little ones to catch and keep. Then, there will be a mini fireworks display for them in Pier Park to enjoy before heading home to bed.
After the Beach Ball Drop, the fun continues for the rest of the adults. A second, brand-new Ball Drop has been constructed on the circle in front of the Grand Theater to bring in the New Year. At midnight, the ball will drop to signal the beginning of the New Year, and the larger fireworks show will begin from the Russell Fields Pier. Bands will play throughout the evening to celebrate the beginning of 2017!
